Discover the truth about the constant battle between conscience and duty for any military person as author Dick Rose accounts the story of U.S. Navy Senior Chief Dan Levin and the admiral’s son going underground rather than returning to his unit in 1968 in Tarnished Brass Curtain: A Novel of Vietnam. The story moves from the Naval headquarters to the skies over Vietnam to the anti-war group’s coffeehouse. An Excerpt: “The world may be round, but it has its flat spots, those little oases in the desert of time where all action suddenly stops its smooth flow, eddies, builds up and focuses itself into one minute point, incident or person…” The book explores the sibling themes of conscience and responsibility. It examines the thoughts of two men—one, young, innocent and practical; the other, older, experienced, and unrealistically idealistic. Tips for Getting Your Book Published Through Book Publishing Packages

When everything is fast-paced and the ideas come in a bulk, so do people’s aspirations. They come with a glimpse of a magazine, a scene from a show, a talk with someone, an inspiring book. And they want to achieve it in an instant – with a click of a mouse. Thus, the advent of self-publishing companies.

With the dawn of self-publishing companies in the book industry, everyone is given the chance to get a spot at the bestseller’s list. Through the self-publishing services these companies offer and with the wide variety of book publishing packages on their list, every author is given the chance to reach their target readers.

Nonetheless, there are a million hardships behind every success. Though self-publishing companies present you an opportunity to success, it is not a sure ticket to it. The truth still remains that success is elusive to those who are not clever enough.

To help you get through this thorny journey, here are some features book publishing packages offer that will help get your book published:

1.       Indexing Service. This will allow your readers to immediately find the key information they need – names, words, etc found throughout the book.

2.       Back Cover Copywriting Service. This gives a great avenue for any author to enhance their book through the help of expert copywriters. These copywriters will help make a professional abstract of the book.

3.       Format and layout. There are allotted images, templates, and design that will suit and better enhance your book.

4.       Design and image features. This includes photos and cover designs that will convey the message of your book and will catch the attention of your readers. You can also customize your design to suit your taste.

5.       Production features. The self-publishing company’s website will track the progress of your book and you also get round-the-clock support from author service representatives.

6.       Post publication features. Your book gets an ISBN and will be distributed to online retailers worldwide.

7.       Marketing features. This includes web designs, press releases, media campaigns, business cards, book exhibits, bookmarks, postcards, and posters.

Since it is a book publishing package, you get to save money compared to engaging individually in these book publishing services. You can reach the public through a lot of techniques that will appeal to the readers, and get online listings and features in different media authorities. Plus, you can customize your designs to suit your taste while still enjoying your royalties.

Remember, you have to invest your money wisely and still expand your market. What better way than to engage in book publishing packages? Try and see what happens.

The Spirit of Giving Featured Book for December

http://www.bookwhirl.com/blog/the-spirit-of-giving-by-ron-blicq/

The Spirit of Giving

By: Ron Blicq

Being able to write six books on how to write well, three novels, and numerous plays that have been presented at a UK regional theatre and in the Winnipeg; Ron Blicq has penned down The Spirit of Giving. The book is a unique Christmas reading experience, suitable for all kinds of readers—children and adults. It’s a collection of Christmas tales, portraying those people who have given of themselves to ensure that others can have a meaningful Christmas spirit.

One chapter highlights the letters from children around the world, describing what Christmas is like for them. The stories in The Spirit of Giving are comparable to the modern Christmas fables, having a lot of almost-Dickensian twists. Writer Ron Blicq heard about the events he describes over the past decade and a half. It is from them that he began his fashion into inscribing the seven stories that add a new dimension to how we see Christmas.

Through these tales, you can perfectly experience the real spirit of giving not just in Christmas season but also in spring, summer, and fall. These stories are where everyone can relate as they share real emotions, which portray the inherent of mankind. And though The Spirit of Giving is a collection of fictional stories, it is considered an optimistically inspirational because they are based in real events experienced by the author in his past years.

This book highlights the idea that Christmas should not stop in wrapping different gifts by vibrant-colored wrappers but rather the experience of the real essence of love and sharing.

The Self, The Christ: Individual, Yet Collective

The Jungian Analytical Psychology perspective provided the foundation for this writing and for helping in the realization that the Christ is a symbol of the Self, that the Self is indistinguishable from the God image, and knowing our true Self to be whole and complete. This also clarifies that psychic processes in all individuals must be impersonal and conform to law, implying that what one has achieved by effort all can.

The Self, The Christ: Individual, Yet Collective

Learn to ascertain what our True Self is, which is that we are creators, made in the image and likeness of that which we call God. Therefore, the idea is to acknowledge that this image and likeness is, what in the epistles of Paul is called, the Christ in you, your hope of glory. Furthermore, the idea is to focus on and give attention to developing this Christed Self, and stop focusing on sin because this Christed Self is a being that is one with God and cannot be separate from God ever, is faithful and doesn’t miss the mark.

The author hopes that this will serve as a resource for those ready to accept that our ultimate Self is the Christ of God and that it is a Consciousness which is accessible to us now. We affirm our acceptance of the Christ as us, and we are empowered to become as children of God with all of the authority of the Holy Spirit. Certainly if we clothe ourselves with the “new self” that is created in God’s likeness, then the dawn of a new era will happen in that individual’s personal life; and as this new self is put on collectively, then a societal wide transformation will be witnessed to. Remember we are to not only bear witness to but to act as an agent for the Christ consciousness. Therefore, let us create a space within ourselves for the Incarnation of the Christ within that it may be given birth.

I received my Master of Arts in Consciousness Studies from the University of Philosophical Research in Los Angeles in 2003 and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas in 1986. I am a member of the Unity Church of Austin; and in 2013, I was voted in to serve on the Board of Trustees for Unity Church of Austin. I have written five booklets of poetry. Having a background in Unity School of Christianity, I have an affinity for metaphysical interpretation of scripture, meaning that all the people and places signify some level of consciousness out-picturing itself.

Fran Thomas, Jr’s Black Angel

Black Angel

Step into North Willow, a tiny, idyllic New England town of sun-dappled trees, bountiful farm stands, where ‘quaint’ and ‘old-fashioned’ are a way of life, whose tranquility hides a terrible secret stretching back from primordial antiquity, a dark history which could open the very gates of Hell. A monstrous evil festers there from the dawn of mankind.

Black Angel
Unbeknownst to all but a few of the town’s residents, someone, or more accurately, something has been manipulating them into performing a series of rituals which will awaken and unleash this ancient, savage god.
Drawn to this picturesque valley is Aaron Gale, a towering, physically imposing youth, possessed of uncanny powers he neither controls nor fully understands, abilities which some believe are of divine origin, his birth itself defying modern medicine. Believed by his mysterious mentor, the enigmatic Conjure Woman, to be the earthly offspring of no less than the Angel of Seven Swords mentioned in the Book of Revelations, Aaron will need every skill she believes he has in his arsenal. For the supernatural foes awaiting him will stop at nothing to summon the slumbering evil for their own sinister purposes, and if Aaron falters, far more than North Willow will be at risk.

But no one could have foreseen the horrors which await the Black Angel, nor how prophetic that cryptic warning would be…

Fran Thomas, Jr.

Black Angel is my debut novel. I have a BA in English, and wrote a monthly column for twelve years in the local paper, and am currently writing a monthly column in another small local paper. My second as yet unpublished novel, introduces a flawed but deadly protagonist, as does the third, which is a work in progress.

Like the stable of heroes created by Robert E. Howard, my series of books feature larger than life men of action, who live by their own code of honor, each possessing deadly skills which they put to use frequently. The settings for these stories range from contemporary America to planets light years from earth, and genres from horror to thriller to sci-fi. The genre is less important than the story, and thus my novels are not easy to classify.

Fans of the supernatural will enjoy the adventures of Noah Gale, the Black Angel. Thriller/military readers will be engaged by Noah Winston, the hero of the 2nd novel searching for an agent/publisher right now, while conspiracy/UFO/sci-fi fans will want to jump on board the adventures of King Nighthawk when that novel (Zeus Unchained is the working title) gets published. Future projects include the sequel to Black Angel, and an environmental/sci-fi trilogy (The Green World Trilogy), as well as the adventures of a Nubian mercenary set in ancient Egypt.

I have two daughters, and am an accomplished martial artist, holding the title of Sandan, 3rd degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate, and have spent twelve years as a middle school principal.
